Welcome to Phoenix Hub: Our story

Autism-specific Support Services Australia

Welcome to Phoenix Hub.

If you have come across this article it is probably because you are a parent who is seeking solutions to a problem that seems unsolvable.

Your child may have been diagnosed with autism or may display autism-specific behaviour. It’s likely you spend a great deal of time travelling between doctor and specialist appointments, and you’re probably exhausted from doing so.

You, your family and others like you inspired the creation of Phoenix Hub.

Our founders, who have backgrounds caring for those with special needs, witnessed the lack of a one-stop-shop for individuals under the age of 18 who struggle with behavioural difficulties, who don’t fit within the traditional education system and who require constant attention and supervision. This triggered us to progressively launch a number of facilities across Australia, each purpose-designed and staffed to support children who have autism-specific and severe behavioural difficulties.

What’s on offer at Phoenix Hub?

Become a private or NDIS-funded client of Phoenix Hub to work with our multi-disciplinary team of educators and support workers, or talk to us about options for live-in care.

Our services include diagnosis and assessment, therapeutic services including speech therapists, occupational therapists and behavioural therapists, and accommodation.

We also help families to understand each other so they can communicate better, and we aim to connect clients so they can share their experiences.

Support for autism-specific behaviour: How we work

Our educators and staff use a family-centred approach, recognising the importance of working in partnership with family members. We tailor our support to meet the individual needs of children in a familiar and comfortable environment wherever possible.

The approach we take is based on understanding the learning characteristics of children with autism-specific and behavioural difficulties. We promote the use of visual supports and structure the physical environment to encourage meaning and independence.

Our hopes

The individuals we work with do not fit within the school system because these traditional learning environments lead to behaviour that teachers, fellow students and parents find difficult to respond to effectively.

Our services and supports focus on social and emotional well-being to help children to gain an understanding of their world so they can function comfortably within it. We offer school, therapy, in-home and community-based services that focus on individual needs. New skills and competencies are taught so children can explore and interact with their world with confidence and assurance.

It is our hope that with our help, children will be able to value their own abilities, strengths and capacities. We aim to help them to develop the necessary emotional resilience they need, so they can manage the disappointments and frustrations that life presents.

Rising to greatness

Phoenix Hub was launched due to what we believe was a strong need in our society. Our founders witnessed a gap in services for children and teens with autism-specific and behavioural disorders, and decided to provide empathetic, caring services accordingly.

Take a look at the words that shape our behaviour each day:

Our Mission

School is important but education is far more important. Our mission is to provide avenues and roadmaps for each person to soar against the ashes of disability.

We hope to see each person with a disability become an educator of their life and teach the world emotional intelligence and awareness.

Our Vision

  • To help every individual to empower and amplify their own vision
  • To create a visionary future filled with promises and dreams
  • To add hope and faith when it is least expected

Our Values

  • Understanding: Making sense of what is going on for each person with an autism-specific or behavioural disability
  • Clarity: Providing clarity about their disability and finding better avenues for a better future
  • Inclusive: Each person has been given the right to soar against the odds regardless of their level of ability
  • Upskills: We recognise that each person has the potential to teach and grow

By visiting our day treatment centre or residing at our purpose-built accommodation, we hope that each client experiences the following outcomes:

  • Increased social skills and relationships
  • Deepened understanding and sense of self
  • Increased sense of connection with others and the world at large
  • Enhanced social, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Healthier relationships with loved ones

Phoenix Hub has an exciting future in Australia as we work with our clients and their families to create a happier and more harmonious life. We intend to become the leading provider of support services for individuals with autism-specific and severe behavioural difficulties and to be widely recognised as the best answer to the question “Who can help?”.
